Hello there! 잘 지냈어? (How are you?) I have been from a veeeeeerryyyy very long hiatus and I decided to come back. I am now a full-fledged doctor and I am currently working as one, in a nearby hospital. How have you been? As continuation from our first Korean Reading Exercise , I would like to present to you another batch of Korean words that you can try practicing on! Are you ready to practice your Korean? If you want to reinforce your knowledge about reading Hangul, you may proceed to this post on how to read and write Hangul to refresh your mind! From now on, our reading (and writing) exercises will feature a specific theme so as to make things easier to read and understand! For this Korean reading exercise, we will feature one of Korea's highlights - their food. Let's read, read, read Korean!! Korean Reading Exercises - Part 1

Now that we had a glimpse of Hangul, it's now time for us to read some Korean words, or probably some Korean-ly spelled English words! If you have missed the lessons on Hangul and how to read them, go to this post, and learn Korean in 15 minutes!

Let's get this Korean reading exercise started!

OK, let's have the first batch of exercises:

Exercise 1

The following Korean words are actually English words, but are borrowed by the Korean language. You only have to match the following words in Hangul, to its Romanized version.

1. 머니터
2. 오렌지
3. 샴푸
4. 바나나
5. 피자
6. 나이프
7. 버스
8. 카메라
9. 커피
10. 햄버거

Orange, Banana, Knife, Camera, Hamburger, Monitor, Coffee, Shampoo, Bus, Pizza

Exercise 2

The following are countries which are translated into Hangul. Try to read and understand the following, and match them with the words below.

1. 부라질
2. 멕시코
3. 스페인
4. 캐나다
5. 필리핀
6. 러시아
7. 이스라엘
8. 이집트
9. 오스트레일리아
10. 포르투갈

    But I've noticed a mistake on the very first word: you wrote 머니터, but shouldn't it be 모니터?

  10. The first exercise is helpful for living and getting around in Korea. It's useful to know where the bus stop is, where to get a hamburger or pizza, and where to grab a cup of joe.
